Building Blocks of a High School Career Program

Participants will learn about comprehensive career programs designed for the high school level. They will be able to articulate the components of such programs and design both interventions and curricula for this purpose. All attendees will receive the Power Point presentation which demonstrates one such curriculum to use in their own school.

The high school years (~ages 13-18) are a fundamental time in human development as students prepare for transition to postsecondary career, education, and training options. Evidence suggests that a well-organized, comprehensive curriculum is most effective in preparing cohorts of secondary students for positive career development. This presentation will provide the components and a comprehensive example of a high school career program.
